Dear Parishioners,
Jesus Christ is Lord, now and forever!
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the warm welcome and love you have shown me since I arrived this past summer. I have known some of you since I was a seminarian in 2010 and from when I served as an associate pastor from 2017 to 2020. Every time I return to St. Maurice, I feel as though I am returning to my spiritual home.
I was hoping that this time I would have been here longer than seven months, but even in this short time, the Lord has blessed me with your joyful witness of lively faith, constant hope, and abiding love!
Please keep me in your prayers as I begin my new pastoral assignment in St. John, New Brunswick, as the parochial administrator of two parishes, St. Joachim and St. Anne. I am excited to begin this new chapter because I will be living with my brother Companions and serving with Bishop Christian Riesbeck, CC.
May the Holy Spirit pour out many gifts and blessings upon each of you and equip you to share the Good News with others, especially as we celebrate our 60th anniversary this year!
With my love and prayers,
Fr. Lawrence
