Infant Baptism

Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: ‘Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word’ (CCC 1213).

Baptism for Children:

Parents seeking baptism for their child should call the parish office at 613-224-1892 to arrange a phone call or meeting with the pastor.

First-time families seeking baptism of an infant will receive support from the parish baptismal preparation team, and will view a series of on-line videos to help them understand and prepare for the sacrament, in addition to talking with the pastor. Families who have previously experienced baptism at St. Maurice Parish will not be expected to review the video series prior to baptism.
Two months notice is preffered.

Baptism for Adults:

Please contact the parish office at 613-224-1892 to arrange a phone call or meeting with the pastor.
