On our journey to Heaven, will we fall away, or will we stay faithful to God? Will we compromise? If we take our salvation for granted, we may not end up among the “saved.” This is the message of St. Paul in today’s reading.
Our world is casual about the affairs of life and death. It is important for us to remove the lukewarmness in our lives, to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to wake up and snap out of ourselves to become more vigorous in our journey towards Christ.
Lukewarm feelings are ways in which the devil deceives us, but we must hold onto God’s truth. When we are lukewarm, we also lose zeal for the souls around us who are away from God. But when we ask, He will help us, give us grace and mercy to follow Him with our lives. All we need to do is take time to repent and stay faithful.
