What is Chalice? Chalice is a Catholic international aid charity focused on child, family, and community development. They work closely with lay people, religious missionaries, and local communities to provide care for the many children and families caught in the dehumanizing grip of poverty. Since its inception, Chalice has been restoring hope and dignity to people in developing countries through their sponsorship program. Children and elders are selected for sponsorship based on need and family circumstances, regardless of race, age, ability, gender, or religion.
Beginning on the first Sunday of Advent, parishioners will have the opportunity to help support those in need by purchasing a $5 ornament for the Chalice Christmas tree on our mezzanine. Funds will be used to purchase items including farm animals, seeds, school supplies, food and vitamins. Please note: Tax receipts will NOT be issued for this $5 donation. If you would like to learn more about the work of Chalice, or if you wish to sponsor a child, to make a larger contribution and to receive a tax receipt, please visit the Chalice website at www.chalice.ca .
