Family Faith Habit for the Month:
A great way for us to help ourselves and our families grow in faith is to share within our homes uplifting scripture verses and commit them to memory. Ways to use and share the verses might include posting them where your family is likely to see them (on the fridge, computer, prayer table, or bedroom), sending one in lunch boxes to school and work, and/or reading it together as part of your morning or evening prayer time together.  A link to some kid friendly scripture verses about God’s love is https://www.artfulhomemaking.com/valentines-day-bible-verses/
If you scroll down to the bottom, it includes links to several free, cute verse printables!

Ash Wednesday Services

A special mass will be celebrated for Ash Wednesday next Wednesday, March 6th at 7pm.  Although this is not a holy day of obligation, we invite all families to attend as a beautiful way to start our Lenten season.

Pancake Supper

St. Simon’s Ministry is hosting a Pancake Supper at the parish that will take place on Shrove Tuesday, March 5th.  Pancakes, sausages, and fruit will be served. Due to limited space, there will be two seatings for dinner: 430pm and 530pm with a maximum of 100 people per seating.  There will be no cost for the dinner although we will be handing out tickets after all masses this weekend (March 2nd/3rd) to all who would like to attend. If you have any questions, or would like to help out with this event please contact Mary Sheridan at 613-224-0284 or by email:  mary_sheridan@sympatico.ca. Hope to see you there!

For Parents: The Mystery of the Eucharist Lenten Study

As we ready our children for receiving First Eucharist, now is a great time to learn more about the Eucharist ourselves! St. Maurice is offering “The Mystery of the Eucharist”- a 6 week Lenten study where we will “explore the truth and beauty of Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, from its origins in Sacred Scripture, to its profound role in the life of the Church and its members.”Sessions are held in the atrium of St. MauriceParish, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Monday nights during Lent: March 11, March 18, March 25, April 1, April 8 and April 15. Registration deadline: March 4. Please contact Ron Bishop: Indian.scout@icloud.com or 613.440.2820. Suggested offering is $20. I am hoping to attend some of these myself and would love to see you there!

Our Next Class: Don’t forget!  Our next class is March 20, 2019 at 7pm.  Please arrive by 6:45 pm to sign in and get your materials for the month.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL FAMILIES – Baptismal Certificates:

Although most families brought the baptismal certificate to show to us at our first class, we do require that each family submit a copy of their child’s baptismal certificate for us to keep on file for the program.  You are welcome to either bring a photocopy to our next class, or you are welcome to scan/take a picture of your child’s certificate and e-mail it to me.  Whichever is easiest for you!

Please e-mail or bring in a copy even if your child was baptized at St. Maurice Parish.
